Business and Industry

As a member of the business community, you know first-hand the challenges you must face in meeting the needs of your customers. Finding highly capable, well-educated workers to help you fulfill these needs is likely at the top of your list of concerns. At the Virginia Career Education Foundation we share your concerns… and we make it our business to find and to support programs and initiatives that provide real-world solutions that benefit you.

Partnerships are the foundation upon which these solutions are built. By gathering the resources available in both the private and public sectors and bringing them together in the form of meaningful partnerships, we can all benefit from a positive exchange of ideas and a sharing of solutions. You know what you need, and we can help you to communicate those needs to educators and guidance counselors throughout the Commonwealth. In turn, you can help us to support programs and initiatives that ultimately solve the human resource problems faced by your industry today.

Through our combined efforts we can secure better futures for youths and more highly-skilled workers for businesses. Please contact us with your ideas and your offers for support.

"Listening to CEOs throughout Virginia describe their emerging workforce needs, I am struck with their consistent request for workers with specific technical training beyond high school. As a partner with the Virginia Career Education Foundation, the Virginia Community College System will work to develop programs to meet these workforce needs and to communicate the availability of these programs to Virginia’s young people and their parents."

- Dr. Glenn DuBois, Chancellor
VA Community College System

"The Career and Technical Education (CTE) state staff is pleased to be a partner with the Virginia Career Education Foundation and looks forward to working with it to promote career and technical education in the Commonwealth."
- Bob Almond, CTE Director,
Virginia Department of Education
